In 1986, Rob took employment working for a friend who owned a stained and leaded glass studio. There he learned the basics of the art and was taught the value of meticulous craftsmanship. Before that, his biggest jobs had been scraping food from the plates of fellow-collegians in the cafeteria kitchen and working as an operator during a phone company strike in Sacramento, California. And he found that working with glass was something that he loved.
That was before Rob went to work for a Christian ministry in Chicago and met Melissa. After they were married in 1994, Rob and Melissa knew that it was time to return to their roots in the West. They settled near Bellingham, Washington where they established a stained and leaded glass studio of their own. It wasn't really quite that easy, but that is another story. . . . Rob and Melissa continue to work from their home to design and build custom windows and other glass features that change the view of their client's world. And really, changing the views is the mission of this little company. Glass is a limited medium, changing only appearances; real change is accomplished by the transforming work of Jesus Christ. When He enters a life, appearances do change, but only because there really is a change. To learn more, go to our companion website www.seeingtheinvisible.com.
